British tools retailer has announced a price-matching scheme for tradespeople in response to what it called “cost pressures” in the country.
The scheme, called Price Promise, allows tradespeople to refund the difference if they are able to find a product for a lower price within seven days of purchase.
The commitment applies for purchases made in store, through the Screwfix app and via its website.
The company said it works hard to keep its pricing competitive, but that if a lower price is found, it is easy to claim through the scheme by providing proof of the lower price in a Screwfix store.
Jack Wallace, marketing director for Screwfix, said: “At Screwfix, we are committed to helping our customers save both time and money, so they can get their jobs done quickly, affordably and right first time. Our Price Promise gives customers added confidence that they are getting great value, along with the convenience and availability they expect from us.”
Screwfix’s parent company, Kingfisher, has been through a series of management changes over the past year. In May, the company’s chief executive stepped down after seven years to join Benelux wholesaler Ahold Delhaize, and in January it named Booking.com executive Eve Henrikson as a non-executive director of its board.
