Superdrug opens largest North-West store at Manchester’s Trafford Centre

Superdrug has opened its largest store in the North-West at the Trafford Centre in Manchester.

The move, which follows the re-opening of the health and beauty retailer's Manchester Arndale store earlier this year, will create 20 permenant and temporary jobs.

The new store will feature a 'Beauty Studio' area, where customers can access professional treatments and a fragrance counter. This area will also include two nail bars, eyebrow threading, and piercing services.

“We are so pleased to be announcing the opening of our brand-new Trafford Centre store," said Nigel Duxbury, property director, Superdrug. "With a wide range of popular health and beauty brands, a luxury fragrance counter, and a professional Beauty Studio, we’re confident that our customers will love and welcome the new store.”

Superdrug opened 12 new stores in 2022, increasing its total trading estate to 789 stores in the UK and Ireland.

The company recently announced it would open a further 25 stores this year.

Superdrug has said that pre-tax profits jumped by nearly 72 per cent to £77.8 million in its latest financial statement.

The results for the full year 2022 reveal that sales were up by 17 per cent to £1.36 billion compared to £1.17 billion in the previous year.

The health and beauty retailer attributed the sales boost to improved store footfall in city centres, successful own brand product launches, and a strong Christmas period.
