Adore Beauty deploys AI tech in first physical store

Australian beauty retailer Adore Beauty has launched an AI-powered digital platform designed to provide a more personalised customer experience for its first physical shop.

Founded in 1999, Adore Beauty is a prominent Australian beauty retailer which offers a wide range of beauty products, including skincare, makeup, haircare, and fragrances, from over 260 brands.

The brand is known for its extensive online presence, providing customers with access to more than 11,000 products and customer focused features such as free express shipping, free samples, and a 130-day return policy.

Last week, the retailer announced the opening of its first physical store at Westfield Southland in Melbourne, Australia, marking the transition from a purely online presence to an omnichannel retailer.

Deployed in partnership with Australian SAAS company Tutch, the digital platform aims to provide shoppers with access to all products available in-house.,

It allows the retailer to digitally interact with its customers while they are in the shop, enabling both the team and customers to search, select and purchase products.

The system also offers a QR code payment option that enables customers to scan their shopping cart to make an immediate and secure payment on their device, with an integrated POS payment option also available.

The AI-powered technology enables customers to see the full product catalogue, product information, and personalised offers that are usually only found online.

Additionally, it automatically suggests products that complement the customer based on their current purchase path, with real-time inventory data that connects the online with the physical shop.

The rollout aims to minimise the risk of overstocking and providing the retailer with a tool to better forecast inventory needs, optimising shop space and reducing stock.
