DFS appoints former Holland & Barrett CEO as non-executive director

Furniture retailer DFS has announced the appointment of Tony Buffin as a non-executive director.

Buffin is current the chair of Nobia, a Stokholm-based kitchen company. He is also non-executive director of supplement food company Applied Nutrition.

Between 2019 and 2021, Buffin was chief executive of health retailer Holland & Barrett.

He has also previously held executive roles at building merchant Travis Perkins.
Buffin has also been appointed as a member of the audit committee, remuneration committee and nomination committees.

“I am delighted that Tony is joining the board, his significant retail experience is directly relevant to the DFS' strategy,” said Steve Johnson, chair of DFS. “I look forward to working closely with Tony as we move forward with our strategy to accelerate growth and develop our home offering."

In July last year, DFS announced it had hired Bruce Marsh as independent non-executive director of the company.

He joined the firm from electronics retailer Currys, where he worked as chief financial officer since July 2021.
