Ocado announces new COO

Ocado Retail has announced it is appointing Amit Chitnis as its new chief commercial officer (COO).

Chitnis will take over from Rose Price who is retiring at the end of the year.

Chitnis is joining Ocado after nearly 10 years at Tesco, where he is currently grocery category director.

He has held several roles at the supermarket giant, including director of trading at Booker Wholesale, and category head of cooking ingredients and global grocery.

Chitnis also previously worked at Bain & Company for three years where he was a management consultant focussing on retail and consumer products.
