Sephora plans to 'double size' of UK business

French cosmetics giant Sephora is reportedly planning to have opened "at least" 20 stores in the UK over the next few years.

Chief executive of the LVMH-owned company, Guillaume Motte, told The Times that the retailer wants to double the size of its UK business with the opening of new stores and an expansion of its website.

“We’re probably looking in the next two to three years to have at least 20 stores in the UK,” he told the publication.

There are currently six Sephora stores across the UK, including two in London, two in Newcastle, and one in both Manchester and Birmingham.

In the Summer, Sephora UK announced it had chosen DHL Supply Chain as its lead logistics provider as part of its in-store expansion plans.

The five-year deal will see the opening of a new omnichannel distribution centre in Coventry, entirely powered by renewable energy.

The make-up chain relaunched in the UK in October 2022, when the Feelunique website - bought by the company for £135 million - became Sephora.co.uk.

In March last year, the company opened its first UK store at Westfield White City, London.
