Frasers ‘exploring sale’ of Pretty Green

Frasers Group is reportedly looking into selling Pretty Green having only recently acquired the brand.

Pretty Green, which was founded by Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher in 2009, was among 13 other brands, including Missy Empire and Base Childrenswear, which Frasers agreed to acquire in a £50 million deal from JD Sports last year.

Frasers is currently in talks with a number of parties interested in acquiring Pretty Green, according to online fashion news outlet Drapers.

At the time of concluding the sale of the brands to Frasers, JD said the decision came as part of its broader aims for international expansion, a statement borne out by recent reports that JD is targeting a €520 million buyout of French sporting goods store Courir.

Commenting on the possible buyout, JD chief executive Régis Schultz said: “We look forward to concluding the contemplated transaction, welcoming the Courir team to the Group and then working with management to fulfil Courir's global potential.”

Reports recently surfaced that JD is looking to roll out a Buy Now, Pay Later offering, with sources telling the Telegraph “[Mike] Ashley’s really excited about credit”.
